Concert Favourites was recorded to celebrate the anniversary of the foundation of the YOPs orchestra. The involvement and participation of the orchestral members extended to the development of the artwork for the CD, which was inspired by conceptual sketches that they made.

As part of the anniversary celebration, YOPs also commissioned a new work The Erry Jig from composer Ciarán Hope who worked closely with the orchestra while creating the piece.

The final selection of tracks for the CD evolved naturally from the performance repertoire of the orchestra and includes film music, classical music and traditional music, not to mention some well-known classics such as Leonard Cohn’s Hallelujah.
